Ever since I was a little girl, horse riding and traveling the world have captivated me. Rather than outgrowing my passions, I’ve sought out a way to combine them in my adulthood. From horse riding in Iceland, to riding through vineyards and taking horse riding lessons right in the cosmopolitan center of Barcelona, I’d never dreamed that life would present me with these opportunities. With the full knowledge that I’m not the only horse riding travel enthusiast out there, I decided to start my own project and launch this blog, Ride Around the World.
With this blog, I invite you to come horse riding around the world with me. I’ll be seeking out the best of the best horse riding holidays and also sharing my favorite horsey books, movies, gear, and travel tips with you.
This blog is a work in progress, and I am a horse rider / world traveler in progress. To give you a little background, I started riding when I was 10 years old, but have never competed or really felt like more than an intermediate rider. My nerves have always tended to get the better of me, but with patience, practice, and persistence, I’m now making the progress as an adult that I lacked the self-confidence to accomplish as a teenager. I still have a lot to learn as a rider (and always as a traveler!), and I’ll be referring you to some of the wonderful experts online who have been super helpful teachers.
Let’s get started creating a community of like-minded horse lovers with a pension for travel and adventure! Follow along with me as I discover new corners of the world on horseback – I’ll be glad to have you ride along with me.
